A democratic playground for all Gothenburg residents. A place where we were given the opportunity to reflect on how we are one with the expertise in the experience.
The assignment
Frihamnsdagarna 2023 was arranged for the third year in a row. A democratic meeting place that is open to the public to visit, whose vision is to generate opportunities for change through discussions and ideas – involving the city’s inhabitants.
As far as we’re concerned, it’s fun and it feels important to be part of this platform – which has been developed to strengthen democracy and create a more socially, ecologically and economically sustainable western Sweden.
Challenge
Well-planned, flawless work is the key to everything for us. Especially when a city or municipality organises events and festivals of this kind, which are intended for everyone. We must be able to ensure that the stage lighting is at the highest level and that all speakers and debaters’ sound connections work flawlessly. So that the sound and lighting experience is powerful and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Sound
Let the sound pour over you. Let the sound captivate you. That’s what you want to experience at a concert or lecture. As far as we’re concerned, it’s particularly important for the sound to be perfectly suited to the venue and to reach the audience in the right way.
Light
Let there be light! But what kind of light do you mean? We always adapt the light to our customers’ vision of how they want an event to be experienced.

A meeting must always work flawlessly. No time must be taken up by issues with cables and monitor settings. We develop the most flexible solutions with the best products on the market.
Cameras
Many types of events and lectures are filmed. Everyone likes moving images! For us, that means syncing angles with focus and light and syncing recording with sound and movement. Whatever we’re filming, we want it to be seen.
Streaming
Just like filming – we approach it with the same passion. So everyone watching the stream can absorb the message just as well as if they were present.
Solution
We were the technical supplier for the entire event and provided sound, lighting, images, cameras and streaming. To provide the best conditions for all speakers and presenters. We also made streaming possible for everyone unable to be there in person.
Meet all requirements
With well-planned positioning of the sound system and speakers, we were able to meet the high standards required on all seven stages. This enabled the audience to follow the discussion or debate easily without being disturbed by sound from nearby stages or activities. This was very important for us and the organisers, since the total event area was not very large. Audience members and visitors needed to be given the opportunity to become absorbed in the specific discussion they were listening to. And thanks to our skilled technicians, we were able to ensure that the audio and video were of the highest standard for people accessing the discussions and debates on phones or computers.
Frihamnsdagarna is a democratic meeting place open to the public to visit, where discussions and ideas leading to change can arise. Our collaboration with AV1 has helped to amplify a range of different voices and guarantee a wider audience through live broadcasts of our programme. An important upbeat partnership to close the gap between people!
